Ngọc does not always add lá or dương. Her backpack is cái cặp màu xanh. Her umbrella is cái ô màu xanh dương. Hoàng Trâm says bố tôi mặc quần xanh. When you need the color to be obvious, use xanh lá or xanh dương.
Hoàng Trâm's question is hôm nay bạn mặc gì? What are you wearing today? Her own answer: Hôm nay tôi mặc áo đen. She also says mình mặc cái váy màu xanh.
With clothes, the color often sits on the noun, with no màu. Áo đen. Quần trắng. Váy xanh. Anh ấy không mặc quần trắng. Bạn tôi không mặc áo đỏ.

Thái Linh's Colors series is Northern. The first video is red, yellow, and blue. Then she puts colors on everyday objects, then on clothes.

You will also hear xanh on its own: cặp màu xanh for a backpack, quần xanh for blue or green pants. When the speaker wants to be specific, they add lá or dương.
Yellow is vàng, orange is cam, pink is hồng, and purple is tím. Ngọc's set is một quyển sách màu vàng, một quả bóng màu cam, một bình nước màu hồng, and một cái mũ màu tím.

Put màu and the color after the thing: một cây bút màu đỏ, một cái mũ màu tím, cái hộp màu xanh lá. With clothes, the color can sit right on the noun: áo đen, quần trắng, váy xanh. Both patterns are in the videos.
Hôm nay bạn mặc gì? What are you wearing today? Hoàng Trâm answers hôm nay tôi mặc áo đen, and mình mặc cái váy màu xanh.
